I live at 24 Siegel St. Graduated Eastern District in '61. It was the end of an era. Looking for old classmates and old friends. Wondering where you are. . . . Anyone knowing Stanley Handaly and any friends in his group, please let me know.
My Brooklyn was growing up on East 19th Street between Aves. U and T. Going to St. Edmund H.S., where my four older sisters went. Having the best pizza in the world—Trio Pizza on Ave. U. The whole neighborhood cried when Jimmy died. He was a great guy. I remember sitting on the stoop till late at night and no one would bother you you were safe because everyone knew you and watched out for you. I remember Puppy City on Ocean Ave. and the great Jewish deli on the corner. I remember Branca Shoes on the corner and the famous Krasne supermarket on Ave. U. What memories! I haven't been back there since 1987 when my parents moved out of there but my memories will never fade. . . .
I lived on Bristol and Livonia (Brownsville) during the '40s then moved to Newport St. in 1942. I went to P.S. 183 and P.S. 165 and J.H.S. 66 on Watkins St. I hung out on Chester St. & Riverdale Aves. near Cash's Luncheonette. I also hung out at the Tiffany Movie Theater on Livonia Ave. Mel's Candy Store on Rockaway Ave. was another hangout. My best friends were my cousin Tony Agosta, Teich, and Murray Cash and others too numerous to mention. If there is anyone out there that remembers me or anyone that knows me or hung out at the places write me. I live in California now and miss Brooklyn terribly.
