lived at 6117 68 Ave. next to the Fresh Pond Rd elevated station. My friends and I would play in the old trolley barn located next to the station. Bobby Kouns, Bobby O'Brien, Wayne Vieet, Hientz Bloess, and his brother Deeter would play around this ruin.

I knew the girl across the street, Betsey Dimsey. We all attended P.S .88 except for Bobby O'Brien. He attended St. Methyis Catholic school. If any of the above mentioned people are reading this, hey let's connect. The 60s were a great time. I live out here in Oregon so I am a little far from my old haunts. Hope to hear from ya.

Kosciusko St., Reid Ave., Brooklyn Tech High School, Brooklyn Dodgers, Ebbets Field, trolley cars and the Lexington El. Nothing will ever replace my memories of Brooklyn.

I received an elementary school education at P.S. 208 on Ave. D and E. 48th St. that was probably among the best that I could have received at anywhere, at any cost. I went by the old school a few years ago and was pleased to see that it was physically in good condition, and was named the Elsa Ebling school. Elsa Ebling was the principal, and Miss Morgan the assistant principal when I attended the school from about 1928 to 1935. I was a member of the first IPC class [Individual Progress Class], which was taught first by Mrs. Carlin and then by Miss Ifland. Four boys were asked to take the competitive exam for entrance to Townsend Harris High School: we were all admitted and attended. I believe that we were asked to go just so that Miss Ebling & Co. could get an appraisal of whether the IPC was a success.]

At first, I lived in a very modest apartment behind a store at 1252 Utica Ave. Later I lived on E. 51st Street [near Albemarle Road?]. After one semester at Townsend Harris, which required riding the Utica Ave. trolley to the IRT at Eastern Parkway, my family moved to 1418 President Street [1935] and remained there until about Oct. 1942, when they moved to 29 DeKoven Ct. in Flatbush. I left for duty with the Navy at MIT about 28 May 1942.
