Readers Report
I was born in Brooklyn. I grew up on Dean St. just off Fifth. Is there anyone out there who I know? I was Beatrice Janson then. I went to P.S. 47 on Third Ave till the 3rd grade, then I went to P.S. 9 in Park Slope (class of '56). If you're out there please e-mail me.

Brooklyn always gets my respect for its diverse cultures.

I ventured past the carousel and lived to talk about it.
I lived at 436 New York Ave., next to Beth David Gershon Talmud Torah (what ever happened to Rabbi Rubin?), which was directly across the street from the 71st Precinct. Someone else was not as lucky as I was, they were killed right under my parents bedroom (read as a "high riser" situated in the living room of our 3 1/2 room apartment) window. My grandparents, aunts, uncle, and cousins lived at 1159 and 1145 President St. My parents' first apartment was on Franklin Ave. and Eastern Parkway.
Lots of great memories, not enough time!
