I was born on 24 4th Place,went to St. Stephen's School for 2 years, Moved to 66th St.& 10/11 Aves. Went to Regina Pacis and Fontbonne Hall, Shore Road & 99th Street. Married and now Ii live in Sunrise, FL. I love Brooklyn and wish I could. My first job was on the Flatbush Ave. Ext.—American Law Book Co. Not far from Junior's.

I'm really enjoying all the memories of my Brooklyn. My Brooklyn consisted of St. Rose of Lima (50s) and then on to Midwood High School. I still go back about twice a year although so much has changed. I miss the friendliness of neighbors looking after all us kids. The small grocery stores and delis—the nickel pickles, egg creams, 2 cent plains, the Kent, Midwood and Leader movies, stickball, punchball, stoopball and roller skating in the streets; Bay 8, Marty's Ice Cream Parlor, Do wop (which I still love). I am sure I must have played skelly which most everyone mentions, but I can't remember it. Can anyone explain how that was played? Now when I go back to Brooklyn there are no kids playing in the streets, Coney Island is like little Odessa with street signs in Russian and many areas are now unsafe. Still get a thrill visiting though.

I had to return once more and see the folks from Brooklyn. And every one of them is right. They love and miss Brooklyn just as much as I do.
