Readers Report
I was born and lived for 11 years in Ridgewood at 384 Wilson Ave. later we moved to Mill Basin. I went to James Madison H.S. and graduated in 1964. I graduated from Brooklyn College in 1972 after a tour of duty in Viet Nam. I was married at the Kingsway Jewish Center on Nostrand Ave. I miss all my friends from those great days in Brooklyn. Hanging out at the "Brow," stickball and punchball in the back of Fillmore Gardens. I live in N.J. now, but my heart will always be in Brooklyn.

My Brooklyn is the world of 1010 President Street from 1945 to 1960. For a glorious evocation of this distant moment I refer you to Janet Klein (208). Truly, I have nothing to add. I would, however, like to chat with anyone who came of age in the shadow of Ebbets Field and remembers me.

I was born on Fulton St. and Rockaway Ave. I lived above the Prime Meat Market next to Spinner's. If there is anyone out there from the old neighborhood e-mail me. I would love to hear from you.

My Brooklyn was at 889 Stone Ave. in Brownsville. I was born in 1932. We were bordered by Linden Blvd. and New Lots Ave. I walked to P.S. 184 and to the Brooklyn Children's Library on Stone near Livonia. Saturday afternoons were the movies at the Stone (we never went to the Stadium which was the "other" movie house.) For 10 cents for adults, and probably less for children. My father was a taxi driver, not his choice, but a depression was on. Sometimes he came home with just a dollar after working all night. The memories of this house and this street are deep.
I have not been back since we left in 1941. Thus it will never change for me.
