Wow! This could bring tears to my eyes! 1010 President Street is my neighborhood! P.S. 241 is my alma mater. I've spent many afternoons and early evenings in the library at Grand Army Plaza. That's one of the things that I really miss now that I'm away at college. In case you wanted to know, I've spent all my previous life in the Ebbets Field Apartments.

A dark winter's night.
Falling snow slants across the
Steeple of the church
At the corner of Sackett and Hoyt.

Lived at 542 Parkside Ave., between Bedford and Rogers Aves., opposite P.S. 92. .Remember Max's candy store on corner of Bedford, Irving Gross's grocery a few doors up. Went to Erasmus Hall H.S. 1959-62, had many lunches in the dazzling deco interior of Garfield's Cafeteria. Would love to hear from people who intersect with the Parkside Ave, P.S. 92, or Erasmus experience. By the way, my Dad Morris Touger owned Almac Signs in Bay Ridge.

I loved your Website. In 1966 and 1967, I lived at 933 President Street. My youngest son was born at that time.
My husband and I were moving from Washington in 1966, and read an article in the NY Times about the gentrification (a different word then) of Park Slope and called the President of the P.S. Association, Joe Ferriss. We arranged to rent the brownstone that he had just purchased and was about to start renovating. We lived on the upper two floors and a young doctor and his family lived on the first floor.
The place had been owned and occupied by the same family since it was built. The last occupant was a maiden aunt in her late 70s. All the original woodwork, hardware, shutters, was kept.
I also had a 2 1/2 year old and spent many wonderful hours in the park, museum and shops on 8th (??) Street. Thanks for the memories.

It used to be 307 President, now it is 169 Bond. It does not matter, different quadrant, same galaxy. The time-space machine on Bergen Street will take me to the best part of the universe for still a dollar fifty. When I think of a dollar fifty, what a scam. When I think of Brooklyn, what a bargain!
