I too went to P.S. 241 and grew up on Eastern Parkway across the street from the library and the "swing park." I go back often (I now live in California) to visit my mom who still lives in the apartment that I grew up in. The gardens, the museum, the library were our playgrounds and I am happy to say that the 3 friends I grew up with and have known for over 35 years are still my dearest, closest friends. If my mom only knew I actually slept in Prospect Park once. . . .

I just plain love Greenpoint Brooklyn.

I've been around the world, and I still love Greenpoint Brooklyn.

Growing up in several neighborhoods of Brooklyn. Sterling Place, Carroll Street (my younger years—birth till about 5 yrs. old); then living by Coney Island on West 8th Street. My parents moved to Brightwater Towers. We lived in 601 B right off of Surf Ave. We were there until around 1976. Then my parents bought a house in Sheepshead Bay. I left brooklyn in 1983 and moved to Michigan. My fond memories was the going to Lincoln High School, I.S. 303, and P.S. 100.

My favorite memories was going to Coney Island in the summer months hanging out by the disco express and the zipper. . . . In the winter months going to Abe Stark ice skating ring. . . . A lot of us used to hang out at the Trump Village Shopping Center. . . . I remember eating Rocco's pizza, to me the best in Brooklyn. We also hung out at Sea Breeze Park. I had a lot of friends growing up in that area and if anyone comes from the same area feel free to e-mail me. . . . Also I remember Fred the Good Humor Man. He always had his Good Humor cart right in front of Sea Breeze Park. I grew up with a lot of different cultures. And I loved Brooklyn mainly for this. . . .

Brighton Beach was great too. . . . All of the kids that I hung out with used to go to Brighton Beach Baths late at night. Yes we used to sneak in there. We were lucky because we never got caught. Hehehe. When I left Coney Island I moved to South Brooklyn and lived there till i moved to Michigan. . . . I miss shopping at Fulton Street. . . . That was the best. My heart and love will always be for Brooklyn and I'll never forget my roots. . . . I have four children who were all born in LICH. And I always remind them of their roots too. . . . I have many wonderful stores to tell but it would take a life time. If anyone lived at Brightwater Towers between the years of 1966 to 1975 and you share some of my memories feel free to say hi. . . . Also to the person who did this website thank you. It is wonderful to read everything that everyone had to say about Brooklyn young and old...
